When you have a choice to make do you think quickly, or do you deliberate about the consequences of what you are about to do? I would say there are two ways to go about it. Think short term or think long term.

Sometimes you would think it wouldn’t matter; sometimes, it does.

I had a choice this morning. I made breakfast with some leftover baked carrots and potatoes and a couple of fried eggs. Sounds easy, right? Yes, it does. It turned out well. I had an eye toward trying to cut calories and did not add extra fat to the potatoes because I had baked them with some olive oil two nights ago. There was enough to warm them up and put a skin on the potatoes. Normally, I don’t put carrots in a breakfast dish, but they were there. I did chop everything up a bit, and it looked good.

Then, to the eggs. Dennis likes his flattened and squashed. I like mine sunny side up and gooey. I made them all flattened out this morning. Don’t ask me why I did that. It was an impulsive decision….
