Chinese people are hotly discussing: Trump or Biden, whose election is more beneficial to China?
Just after “Super Tuesday”, Biden and Trump locked up the party’s presidential candidate nomination in advance with a “sweeping momentum”. The “Trump-Bailey showdown” four years ago will be staged again at the end of this year!
The situation has become very clear. Sino-US relations are the most important diplomatic relations in the world today. Who will be the president of the United States has attracted more and more attention from the Chinese people.
This leads to the question that Chinese people are most concerned about:
Which one, Trump or Biden, will be less threatening to China if elected?
Next, let’s take a look at what Chinese experts on American issues have to say!
Jia Qingguo, a member of the Standing Committee of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference and a professor at the School of International Relations at Peking University, mentioned this issue in an exclusive interview with “Phoenix Reference”. Professor Jia replied:
If Trump is elected, Sino-U.S. relations will be very troublesome because he has outdated ideas, ignores basic moral bottom lines in his actions, and challenges China’s sovereignty principles on the Taiwan issue. If he is elected, there will most likely be severe friction and confrontation in Sino-US relations!
When talking about Biden, Professor Jia said:
If Biden is re-elected, there will be many contradictions and conflicts between China and the United States. The two countries have different interests and views on many issues. However, there is a high probability that he will continue his current policies, which will be more pragmatic and rational than Trump’s policies. For example, on the Taiwan issue, he will be relatively cautious and work hard to avoid military conflicts and wars with China.
It can be seen from this that in the eyes of Chinese experts, Biden is far less threatening to China than Trump!
