China Announces Staging More Military Drills
Military Drill is Response to Latest Visit of U.S. Lawmakers
China restarts military drill in the wake of another visit to Taiwan by the lawmakers of the United States. This unannounced visit has been taking place just after Nancy Pelosi’s visit to the island at the first week of this month.
The restart of the dill only signals that China is becoming infuriated by the frequent trip of the US lawmakers to Taiwan. China marks these drills as a resolute response and solemn deterrent.
The announcement of the military drill came after a group of lawmakers of the United States visited and met the President of Taiwan.
The Eastern Theatre Command announced new drill. However, it is not clear when and where the military drill will be held.
China’s defense ministry spokesperson Wu Qian shares that, ‘We warn the US and the Democratic Progressive Party authorities: using Taiwan to contain China is doomed to failure.’
In response to China’s bellicosity and drill, the Foreign Affairs Ministry of Taiwan mentions in a statement:
‘At a time China continues to raise regional tensions, the US Congress is once again organizing a heavyweight delegation to Taiwan to show its undaunted friendship and demonstrate strong US support for the island.’
