Children’s Storybook Prompts: Inspiration Corner #5

A dose of inspiration to kickstart your own children’s story!

Today in Inspiration Corner is… a seagull who is very picky about what he eats!

And my kickstarting question is… what does he like to eat instead? Maybe he will only steal the fanciest of chips from posh restaurants… or maybe he only likes sugary foods, like cake and candy. Maybe he only likes fruit and vegetables! How does this affect his relationship with other seagulls? Do they think he’s weird? Do they like to try his odd food choices for themselves? Do they worry about him?

By the end, does he have his mind changed and realise that he doesn’t need fancy foods to enjoy himself? Or does he introduce more variety to the seagull family, and they all start to enjoy more than just stolen chips?

Let’s see where this inspiration takes you!

(Feel free to use this character and idea for your own children’s story. That’s what it’s for!)

Thank you for reading, as ever. I’m pleased to say I have an exciting note to add…

My own children’s book The Ballad of the Lonely Woodman is available to read for FREE on Kindle and eBook.
