Childhood Memories
Gone Are The Golden Days
Years have past but I still recall those fun packed days, best of all Free and happy without any fuss Childhood joys make me blush
Jumping on couches when parents walked out, Drawing on walls with crayons, not caring about doubts. Sticking pictures haphazard with zero concern, Mess was no matter, we played without stern.
When the sun did set, we chased fireflies, Boys played with balls, girls with dolls, under moonlit skies. Out in the yard till the stars shone above All childhood joys filled with laughter and love
Childhood seemed endless, the summer nights long, Carefree and joyous, I sang loud my song. Now I smile, remembering those splendid days, Treasuring memories of my childhood ways.
I tell my children of days long ago When summer stretched on in a sun-soaked glow. Of climbing tall trees and building forts wild, They listen with wonder, eyes open and smile.
Their eyes shine with glee at my stories so free Of careless young days filled with revelry “You were so lucky!” they tell me again To live those fun years without duty or men
A smile spreads as I think back with cheer To easy days when I had no fear Through sharing tales the joy replays Kids now know fun from those days
