Child Abuse is On The Rise — Why is it Being Ignored?
A report of child abuse is made every ten seconds, and that’s just America.
If there is ever a time to share an article, it’s now.
Why is this so hard to acknowledge? Because it’s sad? Because innocent lives are being taken? You take to the streets when it’s an adult. What about children?
We claim to want peace, and love. We claim to be social justice warriors – protesting in the streets for our fellow man, outraged at the uncivilized abuse.
What about the children?
The United States has one of the worst records among industrialized nations – losing, on average, between four and seven children every day to child abuse and neglect. PEOPLE! That’s just the United States!
“Globally, it is estimated that up to 1 billion children aged 2 – 17 years, have experienced physical, sexual, or emotional violence or neglect in the past year.”
As of 2018, there are 7.594 billion people. In the world. One billion are children who have been abused. However, that’s only what’s being reported.
Children’s lives matter
As I lay in bed with my 16-month old, I can’t help but wonder, who could hurt her?
Who could harm a child?
We are so caught up in the now, that we fail to see our future being disregarded in numerous ways.
Sex trafficking of young children, child exploitation, violent sexual acts, physical abuse, mental and emotional abuse, and don’t even get me started on the theories behind Epstein Island.
But let me assure you, since the dawning of time, ritualistic festivities promising youth and power, with the sacrifice of a child, have been glorified. Do you think that’s stopped? Because we are ”civilized?”
Eight hundred thousand children go missing a year in just the United States.
According to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, roughly 800,000 children are reported missing each year in the United States – that’s roughly 2,000 per day. Of those, there are 115 children “stranger abduction” cases each year, which means the child was taken by an unknown. Read that again.
