Okay to the reason you’re here.

The Five Point Plan

  1. Write about what you know/love

Number 1 is certainly a cliché, but for good reasons: it’s true. What are you knowledgeable about? It can be anything. From sports, through mental health to Pokemon cards. If you’ve given time and energy to it, so have other’s and that’s your audience right there.

2. Use Catchy titles

In these times of endless content, your title is your shop window, its the first thing your readers see, so make it a good one. Make your readers feel they have to click.

Titles-Pro Tip

Keep something with you to jot down titles when inspiration strikes, also practice writing them, at least five good ones every day, you’d be proud to use, before long you’ll have pages full.

3. Use short paragraphs

Again, with the sheer volume of content at our disposal, if your paragraphs are huge, people will scroll on by, so keep it snappy.

Paragraphs Pro Tip

your reader doesn’t want to know every last detail, so on your reread be brutal, if you don’t think it needs to stay in… it probably doesn’t, so get rid!

4. Upload consistently

At least 3–5 days weekly. It really depends on your chosen subject, let’s say it’s a weekly football game, you may think you’re at a disadvantage. But other than reviewing the match the day after, you can dedicate a couple of days to player profiles. Another day or two to any club news, transfers, player injuries etc In short, if it interests you, there’s readers out there for your work.

5. Pick a niche

Pretty much every how to guide/self help article you’ll read on the subject of Blogging, is going to tell you, you must pick a niche. So it would be remiss of me, to not at least mention this, but ultimately, I’m going to let you make the decision. If you have something you know on an expert level, or just something you’re really passionate about… then the niche has pretty much picked you.

Otherwise, there’s definitely no harm taking a look at some of the most popular and highest earning niches. That aside, feel free to write about anything and everything, that could be your thing, and who knows? In doing this you may happen upon something unintentionally .

In conclusion I’d say that writing consistently and making sure you upload your work, are the first and most important things you can do. Everything after that is an adjustment: your favourite topic, the best times to upload your work etc Everything can be tweaked, just make sure to write and the rest will follow.
