Summary

The poem "Cheating Each Other" reflects on the futility of revenge in response to being cheated on, advocating for forgiveness as a path to personal freedom.

Abstract

"Cheating Each Other" is a contemplative poem that delves into the emotional turmoil following infidelity. It describes the cycle of retribution that ensues when an individual, after being cheated on, decides to cheat in return. The poem emphasizes that such actions only lead to mutual suffering and negativity, suggesting that the natural consequences of one's actions are punishment enough. It argues that choosing revenge over forgiveness is a disservice to oneself, as it perpetuates a cycle of negative emotions and prevents personal growth. The poem concludes by encouraging readers to forgive quickly to liberate themselves from the mental anguish caused by others' actions, ultimately choosing peace and freedom over revenge.

He cheated on you His actions, despicable. You cheated back You drag yourself down to his level.

He cheated on you Nature has a way to make all pay their price You cheated back You pay the same price.

He cheated on you He broke the promises His mistakes You suffered.

To get back To dwell in revenge You cheated back To make him suffer Consequences, caused by actions will have an effect.

Choosing negative emotions will lead to more negativity.

You chose to swim in the river of revenge of lower emotions You chose cheap Rather move on and forgive.

You chose revenge instead of your peace that you get if forgive.

I am saying not to forget but to forgive. Forgive quickly so you don’t get time to cause drama in your head Forgive to set yourself free from their actions and consequences.

Moving on is a choice. If you forgive and choose your life and safe mental place you chose your freedom.

Thank you for reading! Namaste!
