ChatGPT vs. Jasper AI

Why pay for AI when you can get it for free?

When it comes to AI tools, Jasper AI will always be my first love.

I remember when I first found Jasper in an email sent by a less-than-reputable internet marketer.

It was about a year before ChatGPT showed up on the scene, and boy, let me tell you, I WAS SMITTEN.

I know I shouldn’t feel this way about an inanimate object, but…

I felt like a giddy 9-year-old who had just conned grandma into buying me a rap CD with the “naughty language” warning sticker on it.

Hehehehe :)

But seriously, I finally had access to a tool that would save me COUNTLESS hours of work when it came to things like:

• writing YouTube scripts,
• product descriptions,
• book outlines,
• social media posts,
• affiliate marketing articles,
• etc.

For a solopreneur like myself, it was a BIG EFFING DEAL.

But then, late last year, ChatGPT showed up like the hot new girl in high school, AND she was free, whereas I had to PAY for Jasper.

It was tough.

At first, I thought making the switch to free ChatGPT would be a no-brainer.

After all, why buy the cow when you get the milk for free?

But then, this started happening…

Um, excu-hoo-se me?

Turns out, you had to wait your turn to get time with the cow and hope the free milk wasn’t spoiled when you got it.

:(

So, I thought, what the heck, I’ll just pay the $20 a month to upgrade to ChatGPT Plus.

And, I mean, it’s fine.

It’s a really cool tool, and I use it for a lot of things, but it lacks so many of the features that my sweet, sweet lover, uh, I mean, AI writing assistant Jasper has, like:

• YouTube script templates,
• an editing interface,
• Grammarly integration and
• a “Compose” feature that finishes my thoughts for me INSIDE the document I’m working on.

Hell, I’ve written full book outlines and rough draft manuscripts inside Jasper in less than an hour.

Everything I need to create content AND keep it organized is right here inside Jasper.

(I’m sorry I touched another AI, Jasper. You were all I needed all along.)

Even with the paid version of ChatGPT, my chat history is often MIA, and when it is there, it’s an endless list of random insane chats that I can’t organize or easily identify.

I don’t know — maybe it’s me.

Maybe I’m the problem?

I do like that I get access to the latest public version of ChatGPT-4, but even that is limited to 25 messages every 3 hours.

When I’m working on a project, the LAST thing I want to do is stop and wait for the clock to reset so I get 25 more chats.

So, here’s my take on these two AI tools.

ChatGPT is cool and experimental, and I will continue paying for it month after month because I want to see what the latest updates can do.

HOWEVA…

For running my day-to-day business, I’m sticking with my trusty old Jasper AI writing assistant.

This guy was built for business and love.

Okay, maybe not love…
