ChatGPT just leveled up with GPT-4

The first version of GPT (Generative Pre-trained Transformer) was introduced by OpenAI in 2018. This model was trained on a massive amount of text data from the internet using unsupervised learning, which means that it learned to generate human-like text without being explicitly told what to do. The model achieved state-of-the-art performance on a variety of language tasks, such as language translation, text completion, and question answering.
Since then, OpenAI has continued to develop and refine the GPT model, releasing subsequent versions with increased capabilities and improved performance. GPT-2, released in 2019, was even more powerful than the original model, but it was controversially not released in full due to concerns about the potential misuse of its text generation capabilities.
In 2020, OpenAI released GPT-3, which is currently the most advanced language model available. GPT-3 can generate human-like text on a wide range of topics and perform a variety of language tasks, such as translation, summarization, and even code generation. ChatGPT, as a variant of GPT-3, was developed specifically to engage in natural language conversations with humans.
As of November 2022 version 3.5.became widely available and is what’s currently being used by most users, but as of March 14th, 2023 we have GPT-4 technology which is currently available in a few different ways.

- ChatGPT+ users at a cost of $20 per month. Is it worth it? Well that depends on what you plan to use it for? For most users who are just tinkering or exploring the various ways it can be used the current free version of ChatgPT 3.5 is probably going to be enough and if you’re still new to ChatGPT you can view Absolute Beginners Guide to ChatGPT

- Bing AI- Microsoft Edge Edge web browser will now include the new Bing AI chatbot and leverages GPT-4 or you can use Bing Chat
- Contribute into OpenAI evals by merging model assessments and you can get priority access
What makes GPT4 Standout?
GPT-4 include more advanced natural language processing capabilities, the ability to perform more complex tasks, and improved performance on tasks that GPT-3.5 already excels at, such as language translation, text completion, and question answering. It will have the ability to understand and generate more complex sentences and paragraphs, as well as the ability to identify and generate more nuanced emotions and attitudes. Although GPT-3.5 provided excellent results with GPT-4 it’s even better at producing factual results with reduced errors.
When GPT 3.5 took a simulated bar exam it scored in the bottom 10% but with GPT-4 the scores were in the TOP 10%!
Other Highlights of GPT-4:
Multi-modal so it can process more than just text Imagine being able to input a picture of any item at the grocery store and asking for 10 recipes to make or go to the gym and have it tell you exactly how to use a piece of equipment.

GPT-4:Process 8x’s more text with a limit of around 25,000 words vs. 3000 so you can create compelling content and not hit the limitations with the current GPT-3.5 mode.
Guardrails in place to provide safer usage by being able to identify unwanted content, privacy concerns, and adversarial usage.
GPT-4 is being used by some of the largest institution from education, banking, medical, public and private sectors and individuals. ChatGPT with GPT-4 is game changer, but it’s important to remember the data is only relevant up to 2021.
