“Quick, this way!” Ella hissed, darting towards a hidden path.
The Institution’s agents were close, their magic crackling like a storm on their heels.
Cade, energy buzzing, glanced back. “Won’t hold them long,” he grunted, casting a swirling wind barrier.
Thorne, silent as shadow, nodded. “Our tracks, erased. But time’s thin.”
They ran, a trio bound by fate, racing against an unseen clock.
Ella’s heart thundered in her chest.
“We stand together,” she breathed, “or not at all. Right?”
“Imagine their faces,” Cade chuckled, “outsmarted by mere youths.”
But Thorne’s eyes held the horizon. “Prepare for the ambush up ahead.”
