Charlie Gecko

A Short Tropical Tale

Meet my friend Charlie.

He greets me at the washbasin every morning. I think he lives behind the mirror but I’m not absolutely sure.

He looks at me and I to him with a friendly aloha every morning. We always take the time to share a little smile.

If he’s not too busy catching tropical things that fly and crawl he joins us for lunch as well. I always save him a little tidbit.

And how do I know it’s Charlie?

Well, he had an altercation with our screen door, or sliding window, or perhaps an overly aggressive housemate resulting in a missing tail.

Not to worry for it’s growing back very nicely. It’s a bit short and stubby right now but it’ll be full length before too long.

There’s never a dull moment living in the tropics for Charlie or me.
