THE SLIDE Part 4

Chapter 55: Squabbles, Rabbles, Roils & Troubles

Fantasy/Suspense: Final Conflict | This is the end…

At Least Three Dimensions | ©2022 by the author

In the last Two Episodes

In Chapter 54 Sophie L’Mallard (see Chapter 17 about Sophie L’Mallard) chimera of wolf and human continued to transform under a confluence of lightning. She briefly finds peace as a human at the edges of Earth’s atmosphere.

Farha and Kuzma form a beam of light that Ombolo shoots her longest tentacle upwards with Zed riding. The Dark One and the eight ObzKotch fire sheaths of lightning at the portal of the event horizon. The lighting severs the tentacle from Ombolo.

Ombolo fell as an octopus while a sentient part of her transversed the wormhole into the far distant past with Zed.

In Chapter 55 Zed is transported to a trap in a different time where the narrative is First Person from Zed’s point of View. He blames himself for humanities demise.

The Expectation

As Zed left the vortex riding on Ombolo’s ninth tentacle, there was the sound of a distinct “pop” followed by cascading lights. The original eight looked towards the blackened apex of the vortex in awe and wonder. They appeared to be waiting for something.

Thoughts flew in telepathic zips from one individual to another:

You, two, meaning Farha and Kuzma, were expecting peace to break-out… or that Zed would reveal the pressure on the vortex, the threat of violence would dissolve as if by magic… or all the ObzKotch warriors would fall and become light… the thoughts emanated from Maria and Marie.

Yes. Doesn’t everyone feel the shift, the change in vibration? I feel it, Ra thought, broadcasting wide. Farha and Kuzma, do you feel it? Ra wondered, but Farha and Kuzma shook their heads — no.

Nikos and Sophia felt disgust with Ra, Farha and Kuzma and the love fell off. Small snatches of bickering thoughts bit at each of them through though and feeling contacts and penetration and the love diminished.

The love, the love, Maria sent thoughts and feelings of love to all. The bickering continued.

Please stop, both the thought came from Marie Bissett.

“Stop,” the voiced harsh and commanding in tone, flowed across Nikos’ lips.

It’s not me, Nikos protested aloud and through thought.

“I know that who that is and where it comes from,” Farha shouted.

The love bond was broken. Only fragments lay broken and strewn across the rocks surrounding the figure in the central beam. They appeared like clear tubes — shattered like glass that darkened and dissolved in a hissing steam.

Reversed Lightning

Black lightning reigned down from the apex of the vortex, shorting out the individual columns of bright yellow-white light. The short created momentary flashes of searing white light. Each of the seven of eight columns of light immediately darkened and widened with shadow material that resembled black smoke or murky blackened water.

Each of the seven individuals mainly: Marie Bissett, Nikos, Kuzma, Maria, Ra, Farha, Sophia were surrounded by darkness in close quarters and remained glowing with light from within their bodies at the heart, naval, forehead — or two or all three. The eight columns contained bright yellow and white sunlight and black drippings.

Chimera Sophie

Sophie — transformed into She-Wolf — Chimera; was no longer Sophie L’Mallard: human. It had become attached to all manner of jealousy, envy, malice, avarice, greed, lust, covetousness, possessiveness, addictions and many other blackened negative emotions. She lost her human thread and became machinated evil. She-Wolf devolved into a genderless beast, three times the size of the small frail Sophie with a profound emptiness within. It thought by eating creatures of the human kind, she could satisfy her need for light. The more she consumed the light, the more she needed.

Her once delicate hands became claws with razor sharp points that ripped Hrez’s limbs off. The light within his interstitial tissues was quickly consumed. The small amounts of light enraged the Sophie-Chimera, and it tore him to shreds, stuffing him into her wide mouth -crunching bone and blood. Still, the core of his light eluded her.

“I must have all their light. All of it for us!” the Chimera growled, drooling blood and saliva while its eyes glowed red. “Now! Attack!” it roared and threw a half-gnawed leg at them.

Sophie Slofee-Chimera stood on its hind legs and commanded the ObzKotch Warriors to attack the seven of eight and bring the light to the Slofee. The Chimera unleashed the reverse-black lightning to the lake and sicked the eight ObzKotch machines to the Light Ones and the central Light One too.

Battle of Light and Dark

The Light One at the center of the fighting flung his light-coated arms out of the beam and flailed them about. All seven of the original eight struggled by running through a variety of dimensions, both high and low. And some in the middle. Each of these strategies was thwarted by the ObzKotch machine warriors. Alternating in random order, they fought back, surrendered, struggling and sacrificed resistance. That worked for a time. Slofee-Chimera was so large that when it landed, it completely surrounded the Light One and broke off its razor-sharp claws into the yellow-sunshine light and either removed itself or was thrust about twelve feet above in a wobbly orbit around its target.

Slofee-Chimera and the eight ObzKotch machine-tooled warriors pulled each of their victims closer to the Light-One at the center. He spoke to them from his center and their center simultaneously through heart, mind, body, spirit, and speech:

“Release, let go, Release… Let go… Re-lee-ease, Leee-te Go…” he repeated hypnotically

One thousand feet up, the “eyes” of the Elohim — all forty-eight eyes — gazed at the geometric pattern of the eight petals of the chrysanthemum in a kiwinetty* pattern of perfection.

All seven of the original eight ceased struggling and stopped resisting. Yet the greedy neediness of the eight dark warriors and the massive Dark One worked at an inverse proportional speed. The faster they tried to reach the center and eat the Light-One, the slower the speed at which they progressed.

Exhausted, the eight dark warriors and the Dark Slofee Chimera ceased their attack and all were in the transdimensional space of the Light-One. He was heartily and good-naturedly laughing.
