Chapter 3: We are a world not a sum of civilizations.

Now it is time to define the base of our future civilisation. A united population of different cultures.

My name is Augustin Vallée. I am a 24 year old, French aerospace engineer. Like many people I don’t want to keep living in this world. At least on the path we are on right now. I see where we will end up in a few years and I don’t want my future to be like that. I am using Medium as an outlet to give you my point of view and most importantly as a place to have a conversation with you. I want to find ways to make the world a better place and I need your help.

Help me find a roadmap to make the world a better place, find the best solutions for our future and the future of our kids. Let’s start to change things for the better, together, right here and right now. Once again, please speak up, this is a conversation.

We are humans, we are all living on earth and we all want to same which is making our lives the best they could ever be. The problem is the definition of our idea of perfection and the path we want to take to get there. Some want to be as rich as possible, some want to rule countries, others are turned towards religions and some are focused on the earth. All of them are right, but in their own referential.

The world is divided in cultures, politics, religions and believes. We all have a different background, because of that we care about different things. And yet we are all the same, working toward the same goal in the same place. We are all citizens of the world. Whether we live in India, China, France, Brazil or Kenya we are all humans. With modern technologies, it becomes easier every day to travel the world and communicate with each other no matter the distance between us.

For those reasons, the base of the future should be one united nation. Only one force working together. We are already working together anyway, to trade products, food and knowledge. But those interactions are slowed down by the tension and the competition we have between countries. It doesn’t make sense anymore. We should be educated enough to know that working together is our best solution to make the world a better place.

It is already happening on small scale with the COP21 where countries came together to talk about the environment and find a plan to get on the right path. We can’t do this alone anymore, we need to be united as one. A single population of different cultures. We should make those events a permanent part of the decision process on a global scale.

Of course we are going to need to find a middle ground in a lot of cases. It is not going to be easy, but it is worth it and I am sure we can all be smart enough to find a way to make this work.

I want to build a place where we can discuss this war and find a strategy to get all of us out of it as soon as possible and with a long term solution. I can’t do it alone and I need your help. Let’s start a conversation right here to find a way to put those thoughts into actions.
