Changing Your Mindset Can Change Your Earning Potential
Three things to Focus on as an Entrepreneur
As a four-year entrepreneur, I realized there are three things that pop up often for veterans or newbies in this space.
Much of it is how we think that can inevitably affect outcomes in your own business.
#1- Gratitude to do the thing you CAN do.
Much of entrepreneurship can lead you down the road of, “I don’t have this, or I don’t have that.” It’s fine. but focus on what you DO have.
Think —
What can I do right now with the things I have?
Also come at it from another standpoint,
“I get to do XYZ everyday.”
Examples:
“I get to serve my clients and solve hard problems for them every day.”
“I get to help my clients expand their business to help others.”
“I get to help my community by creating work and jobs for others.”
#2- There are no shortcuts
There are no secrets to success.
It is the result of preparation, hard work, and learning from failure.
— Colin Powell
That quote above says everything.
Preparing means your researching, organizing, and getting your thought process together, improving processes within work. Working hard — focusing on the task at hand, and not being able to take failure too hard.
#3 -Failing is just another lesson learned
I have not failed. I’ve just found
10,000 ways that won’t work.
— Thomas A. Edison
This can be the scariest one of them all. We continuously learn this one. Being able to fail means coming to the realization that the great idea, thought or business you had was not successful because there were details missing or there was no process put in place — preventive measures — to prevent the failure.
Failure can be seen as a bad thing. It can be embarrassing and can sting worse than anything — especially if others know. It has a level of shame to it.
But here is the great thing about failure.
You can reflect on what made you fail the task and don't repeat it.
Think —

💡What steps led up to me failing at that business task or idea?
💡What should I do instead?
💡What preventive measures can I put in place?
💡How should I move forward with this one step to make sure things are done correctly?
Approaching failure like this will help with managing your thoughts and take a positive approach to life.
