Changes

Do you feel both fearless and fearful sometimes?

We feel fearless, invincible, fearful, confused, lost and found, Sometimes in the same hour.

Fear, joy, love, anger, frustration, Each follows and overlaps the other, Endlessly spinning around an invisible wheel.

But what about thoughts? Should we choose this or that? Go here or there? Blue or green? Now or later?

Remember that old friend, lost to the past? Faded days and hazy nights? Days of some glory long gone?

What about next Tuesday’s phone call? And that bill that’s due?

Thoughts are inevitable and unavoidable, But our response to the internal and external world is a choice.

We can breathe deep, figure out what to reach out for, speak up for, help with, and really take a look around. Get connected to now. Then, with a little understanding of our current situation, choose a path forward that helps more than hurts.

Looking back, we accept we did the best we could, with as much clarity as we could find amidst our confusion. We forgive ourselves for failing sometimes, and then look ahead and try to find our best selves in this moment.
