Know Thyself, Heal Thyself Weekend Prompt: Perception

My capturings of the world around me and how I process my gatherings my perception differs from conception even though I stand with my own two feet less than two feet apart from yours on the same land

I will stand in your place if you will hold up the race so that I can add a glimpse from your shoes to my collection of worldy clues to carry a better perception with less misconception

We think we see clearly 20/20 or nearly we are mistaken severely sometimes misguided by ourselves sometimes faked out by the news shelves it’s hard not to land on overwhelmed

We must keep pushing forward with both feet on the ground not to be turned around by the pressures or perceptions of others or our own deceptions

We should keep on walking and keep on talking marching to freedom lands drawing our parallels led by the hand of Rev. Samuel Wells boldy with bells making our stand grand walking, and talking, and unblocking everything that we misunderstand

Know Thyself, Heal Thyself spurred this piece with the Prompt: Perception. I was thinking about the perception of struggles. At church today, a singer brought me back to a civil rights anthem by the Freedom Singers. This was my fight song for years whenever it was my perception that anyone or anything was trying to get in my way of doing what I thought was right for the kids that I taught. I want to strive to have a perspective that produces hope and steps forward. I hope that you will take a moment to see this poem and hear this song. I hope you will add to your perception of how we must move to overcome our struggles — big and small, personally and for us all. Thanks for the prompt 𝘋𝘪𝘢𝘯𝘢 𝘊.
