My Loving Gift To You

A day before yesterday, I was traveling and happened to read yet another uplifting article/prompt by Trista Signe Ainsworth.

It just lightened me from inside and the next moment I found myself being a mere observer as my pen danced on paper carving these words. It was as if words were organically falling from my mind onto the paper and I was a silent spectator.

Her prompt just guided my inner being. As if at 30,000 ft, some higher power brushed past me and sprinkled some fairy dust. It was a moment of epiphany that lightened and brightened my soul.

Her prompt on “what lights you up? What are your favorite holiday gifts to create” can be read here.

The poem presented itself to me in the most enlightening way, as if it was waiting in my subconscious patiently waiting to be prompted by ever-lovely Trista.

When I was a little girl My parents showered on me their eternal love Tender care of siblings is forever my treasure trove Laughter, smiles, and affection were the seeds, flowers, fruits of our garden The riches of genuine love and sincere care nurtured me and still lights me up I pray to be able to let everyone under the Sun relish a few sips from this chalice of ambrosia¹ and revel in an enchanting nostalgia.

When I grew up as I might Friends were a major part of my tribe my partners in crime, never leaving my side my support system, I had their back and a shoulder to cry Being my mirror mirror on the wall Intricately woven by an unsaid wow together to stand and together to fall All for one and one for all

I am blessed, proud, and grateful to all my crowd for exquisitely embellishing the twinkle in time by steadfastly sticking through thick and thin The reminiscence lights me up and begets a grin This bastion of precious selfless faithful friendship, I would like to gift to everyone from my chalice of ambrosia

When I found true love, it was a fairy tale Everything was red and life was a rose bed My elation knew no bounds ’cause my soul mate I found Love was pure and I was secure This kind of gift I wish for everyone from the heavenly chalice of ambrosia

My son came and left so soon Leaving me forever to mourn But God has some other plans, granted me another boon Again I was the blessed one Came along my daughter, life once again was filled with laughter My raison d’etre, my beacon of light Sorrow, pain, tragedies are inevitable in life But the immense joy after the pain is a grand gift I wish for everyone 🙏

I have lived every moment, bright or dull faced, embraced, and let it go drenching in a past deluge is way too trifle

Only a time well spent is a precious legacy that lasts Gloriously glued in time and etched in space Mesmerizing memories always lighten up our days Life is lived in moments, not years I wish you live fully in the moment my dears.

I bestow upon you a predicament, to live in the present. Lighten up your life and open the gift wrapped in this moment.

Come, I gift you my chalice of ambrosia

¹ambrosia: drink of the Gods, heavenly nectar(from Greek mythology)

Thank you everyone for reading. 🙏
