Celebration As Joy

How to find happiness every moment

“Our path to reach out to stars should be full of celebrations, the journey is the most beautiful part of these dreams.” ― Purvi Raniga

Every day we are here on Earth is another day to celebrate. We are all fortunate to be living this experience called life.

I used to bring out the fine china only for occasions like holidays. Now I feel that every day warrants their loving presence on our table. It is why we now use my grandma’s floral dishes to set our breakfast table.

Celebration allows your heart to open wide to the possibilities all around you. When I fill my bowl with fruit every morning and see the pretty dish, I feel a spirit of love wash over me.

You can feel the same joy every day when you choose to celebrate.

Yesterday I went outside and felt the life-giving rain all around me. It felt like a grand gala for the Earth, letting everything receive nourishment and love. Every moment can be a party if you allow it.

Here are three ways you can celebrate life more often:

Create a Special Day

My son and I created a day just for us called Smoothie Wednesday. Every week we venture out for a treat and a chance to chat about our lives together.

It is a way to celebrate our time together and recognize how precious life is. Every week we look forward to it and transform an ordinary day into one of joy and light.

I invite you to create one special day per week. It can be something just for you or a chance to enjoy time with a loved one.

How can you create a special day?

Celebrate Small Progress

Right now, I am in the process of writing a book. At first, it seemed daunting to write at least 50,000 words. Now, I concentrate on writing 500 a day.

Every time I write another 500 words, I celebrate by posting a fun image on Twitter with my word count. I invite others to share how their books are coming along. It allows us to celebrate together.

I challenge you to celebrate each milestone you reach. When you celebrate small steps, you encourage yourself to keep going.

Date with Yourself

A great way to create a celebration is to take yourself out. A date alone lightens your spirit. You can choose what to focus on and enjoy the time you concentrate on your loving self.

You can do this at home or go to a cafe. The location does not matter. The feeling you get when you spend time with yourself counts.

I love to sit for a while with coffee or tea and sometimes a delicious savory bagel, write in a journal, ponder my thoughts, or dream about future travel. You can take along a sketchbook and have fun creating.
