Celebrating Sleep Habits
Prompted Poetry about Sleep

When the sun had yet to rise, On this lovely restful Sunday When there was still so much hope for a lie-in.
I woke up just as usual, sans alarm clock Morning routine — conditioned — ready to go!
Gone are the days of sleeping til noon Ending the weekend with groggy social jet lag Today is the day I realized That I now have a solid sleep schedule, I have a biological rhythm ticking Nurturing me and supporting me. Goals achieved, celebratory moment?
Once upon a time, Lucy used to struggle with sleep, Days of insomnia now a story of the past.
Lucy (The Eggcademic) [she/her] wants to thank Agnes Laurens for this hilarious prompt: “the first sentence you said to yourself as an acrostic poem!” Mine was “Wow I’m getting old” because it’s Sunday and I still woke up at around 5:30am per more weekday schedule. Gone are the days of irresponsible yolo sleeping, here are the days of taking care of my body and making sure I have enough sleep to be who I truly want to be — not an irritable grump.
