Celebrating My 25 x 2–2 Birthday
Cheers to the number 48!
“Your age isn’t you. Use today to feel your best, celebrate and be your very happiest.” — M. Rivers
As I inch towards 50, sadness drifts through me. This morning I was wondering, why? If friends say something negative about their age, I correct them, “Age is just a number. You should be grateful for each birthday.”
I feel grief over wasting time in my 20’s, running away from a stressful family situation to a stressful love relationship, ending in divorce.
Each birthday is a reminder not to waste a moment.
Now, I need to remember my 40s is the time I corrected my regrets. I finished my bachelor degree at 45. Last year, I started writing a novel and began a MFA program.
I’m chasing after my dreams of writing and teaching and a number will not stop me.
Cheers my friends!
