Celebrate 02.22.22 by Being Human

You are a spiritual being living as a human.

Today is a once in a lifetime event — 02.22.22. The sequence of numbers means connections and new beginnings. According to numerologists, two is the number of intuition, observation, and relationships.

It’s the perfect date to share this message of how to experience your soul by being human.

My story of being human began on a sightseeing boat.

I was standing on the fly bridge of a sightseeing boat, feeling the wind in my hair and the salt spray on my face. The Captain warned me not to let go of the railing, because the ocean was a bit rough and I could go flying off the small platform.

As the boat rolled up and down another wave, the cliffs of the Na’Pali coast of Kauai provided a visual point of reference. I held on, enjoying the freedom and the sense of flying through space and time.

I opened my awareness to the glory of nature, and asked my usual question of God, “Please help me be more like you.” In the past, there would only be silence acknowledging my willingness to become more God-like.

But this time, it was different. The beautiful setting, my expansive energy, and openness to hear more provided a new awareness to enter. Instead of silence after asking my question, “Please help me be more like you,” I heard the following, “Allow me to be more like you.”

I stood on the fly bridge in my body, but I felt my soul quicken, even while my mind tried to understand the request. God wanted to be more like me? That seemed impossible, until I realized — that was my problem. My mind, full of limited beliefs and fear, was trying to decide what to do, when it was my heart and soul that knew the answer.

In that moment, I had an epiphany. I knew how many other times I had turned away from a Divine Invitation because I listened to my mind and ego, instead of following the messages from my heart and soul.

I decided to never let that happen again. The instant I said “Yes” to God, something extraordinary happened. The timing can only be explained spiritually and will be revealed at the end of this article.

Being is the first priority

All my life, I have been tormented by endless thoughts and ego’s fear-based messages. I could never overcome their persistent clamoring enough to join the Divine in the physical arena of time and space. Even after that experience on the boat, I still couldn’t align my energies.

The answer crystalized one day when I saw a sign outside of a small church in the country. I don’t remember the name of the church or the denomination, but it was the sign’s message that clarified how we are meant to create in this physical world.

The message was “Being Human is Divine.”

That was an AHA moment for me! There is a difference between humanness and beingness — beingness comes first. I felt as if I had been suffering from Spiritual Amnesia, and I just woke up to the truth of how to allow God to be more like me.

It’s called Being Human. The order of these two words is crucial to your understanding of dancing with Divine Love and Energy.

What is the difference between Being and Human?

Ever since that day on the fly bridge and the realization that we are human and beings, I have been on a search to learn more.

I came across Chapter 85 of the Conversations with God trilogy by Neale Donald Walsch and he wrote these words:

There’s a difference between being and doing. Most people emphasize doing, not being, and then they find themselves dissatisfied, disinterested and disillusioned. To avoid “dissing” yourself, it’s important to understand the difference between being and doing.

If you choose happiness, joy and peace, you receive it as your experience, whether you do anything or not.

If you choose reunion with God, deep understanding, endless compassion, total awareness, absolute fulfillment — it won’t happen because you did something. You experience it because you chose to become that.

Are you beginning to see the difference? We are spiritual beings living inside an Earth suit — a human body.

We get so caught up in the doing that we forget about being.

Think about this:

Doing is a function of the body. Being is a function of the soul.

The body is always busy — never stops or rests. It’s doing all the time! Your body is always doing something, either at the request of your soul, or not. The quality of your life hangs in the balance.

The soul is forever being, regardless of what the body is doing. Your soul only cares what you’re being, while you are doing. It is the state of beingness that the soul is after, not a state of doingness.

Decide to create from being, then allow that energy to inform your doing

Once you see the difference between being and doing, you can never unsee it. You can only forget to connect to your inner world.

Think about when you created from your mind and ego — how did that turn out? I know when I have written articles with the intent to gain more readers, it didn’t turn out well. When I begin with joy and connection, the words carry that energy.

  • When we create from doing — your mind and ego are in control. The soul is silent because it is not the source of energy from which you are creating.
  • When you start with beingness, your soul is active in the expression.

This section from Conversations with God sums it up beautifully:

You are not on this planet to produce anything with your body. You are on this planet to produce something with your soul. Your body is the tool for your soul. Your mind is the power that makes your body move. It’s a power tool for the soul’s desire.

How to create from your soul

According to Conversations with God, it is important to understand the different functions of the soul, mind, and body:

The function of the soul is to indicate its desire, not impose it.

The function of the mind is to choose from its alternatives.

The function of the body is to act from that choice.

When body, mind and soul create together in harmony and unity, God is made flesh. Then does the soul know itself in its own experience.

When we start with beingness, we invite God to be part of our experience. Just like when I was standing on that bridge, flying over the waves, God became my experience.

I promised to tell you what happened on the sightseeing boat, after I said, “Yes” to God’s request to become more of me. As soon as I got over the shock of hearing these words, my soul ignited with desire. And I said “Yes — you can have all of me.”

As I stood on the front of that boat, I was free of the small, ego-self I created. Instead, I was one with the wind, the water, and…dolphins! A large pod of dolphins showed up at the front of the boat in the same moment I said “Yes.”

The timing was not coincidental or an accident. It was an acknowledgment of my saying “Yes!”

If there is one thing for you to remember, focus on your state of being first. Choose from the higher energies such as love, peace, forgiveness, joy and bliss. As you move outward from your inner beingness, the world will shift and reflect it back to you.

And your soul will dance with the joy of being human.

I am you. You are Me. We are One. All is well.
