Cat Tree
March Six Word Photo Story Challenge: “Pet People”
They say I have nine lives.
If a cat really does have nine lives, this one has probably used up most of hers. This is Blair, aka Kitten. She’s my youngest son’s girlfriend’s cat and she loves to get into whatever she can.
She looks similar to our Mia, aka Creature, but that’s where the similarities end. I think she’s part Maine Coon. Very vocal, more of a chirp than a meow, and she’s a picky eater.
As far as her cat food, Blair only likes pâté, but will eat any and all people food. I had to start putting our bread in the pantry instead of leaving it out on the counter because she ate through a bag and nearly ate the whole loaf. She’s also eaten through a package of hamburger buns.
She likes to get on top of the stove and see if there’s any crumbs left after I’ve cooked. The fact that she’s singed her tail on a burning candle doesn’t deter her from the hot stovetop.
The cat tree in the photo is her latest sanctuary. She plays with the hanging toys and has tumbled off the top a few times already. Maybe tumble isn’t an accurate word because the look on her face afterward says, “Look how graceful I am. I meant to do that.”
Thank you to Mary Chang Story Writer for her six word photo story publication!
