According to the article published in The Economic Times, 80% of the total employees are looking for a job change, and dissatisfaction related to their careers is increasing daily. The main reason behind this dissatisfaction may be the influence we get from social media and reels.

We are bombarded with rich guys with fancy luxurious cars living the most passionate lives they can, and when a YouTube guy asks them what they do for a living, they reply with some unique and fancy careers they have. By being exposed to this kind of stuff and having a dissatisfied heart with our job, we start to fantasize about the most exciting job we can have.

In this post, I'm sharing about the most common job fantasies we all dreamed of at least once and we’ll explore whether they are worth pursuing or not.

1. Book store: This is one of the most common dream jobs of bookbugs and those who want a relaxing life without any noisy surroundings. However, having a bookstore as a primary source of income is quite impractical these days as everyone is slowly shifting towards ebooks and Kindle. You can do this if you’ve successfully built a passive income source that can sustain the standard of life you want to have.
2. Traders and investors: Share trading and investing is what the trend is about these days, we've seen all the high-end entrepreneurs disclosing their portfolios and insisting their followers invest in stocks. Share-trading and cryptocurrency investment are a good side hustle to have but doing it full time will require a lot of hard work and dedication.
3. Hotel and Restaurant: We all dreamed of having a Restaurant or a Hotel of our own because it's fascinating and going to different hotels and staying there has become a trend now. Also, those who don’t love suite lives can easily get one when you have a hotel of their own. If you have that much capital to start and maintain the staff, this is one of the best career options.
4. Publishing a Book: If you are a writer on Medium you’ve probably seen those writers with blue book author badges and it's quite fascinating and inspiring to know that your work is benefitting thousands of readers and helping or entertaining them. But being an author requires a great effort and tremendous knowledge about the subject.
5. Great musicians or artists: We all love to be acknowledged for our creativity and skills whether it's music or song composing, being famous in this sector is profitable these days. You get Royalty income, an audience base, and a lot of brand promotion contracts. If you can compose and be famous for your work, it's worthy of your efforts.
6. Entrepreneur: The start-up culture has created a never-ending urge to find out what you love or something that may bring revolution to the market to start your own company. This is one of the hardest career options on this list as calling yourself an entrepreneur and being one who makes money are quite different things.
7. Government officials: This is not just your dreams but your parents too are dreaming that one day their child will be a government officer and have power in his or her hands. By being a part of a governing body you’ll get the luxury of having power in your hand and also get respect and money. If you are willing to work hard and dedicate your life to serving the people of your country, this could be an ideal option for you.
8. Sports person: Ever dreamed of having a huge fan base of yours who are watching you play and beat your opponent? If yes you have a sportsperson in you. Sportsmen are among those people who not only earn a hefty amount of money but also get the luxury of having genuine fans and a healthy body for a lifetime. The only problem with this career option is that you have to work hard to get to the top, or else you’ll end up being just a coach who earns just like another normal employee.
9. Travel vlogger: Who doesn't like having a life where you can get paid for the things you love doing? Being a part of the Travel industry is one of those sectors where you not only get plenty of money but also the joy of traveling and meeting people of different ethnic backgrounds. Travel vlogging is even one more step ahead of it, you’ll get brand promotion requests and people may allow you to experience their service for free in return for publicity.
10. Food Industry: The one industry that parallelly gained popularity with the Internet is the Culinary industry, whether it be cafes, Restaurants, lodges, resorts or even food vlogging has significantly improved. If you are a foodie you may find yourself best fitted for food blogging. However, earning in this particular industry requires patience, if you start a blog or open a cafe of your choice, you'll have to wait to let people know about you, till then you just have to keep investing.

These are some of the most interesting and appealing career options we all usually fantasize about. Having a career where you are involved from your heart is more valuable than just earning a hefty amount of money by selling your soul out. It’s just that the joy of being involved in the things you like and peace of mind are intangible things, that's why we ignore those assets of ours.
