Career Journaling 101
A useful tool for those who feel lost
Career journaling changed my life.
I was feeling lost and lacking direction. Then a random notebook from an unexpected source landed in my lap.
So I came up with the idea of career journaling, which looks something like this:
Record at least one idea per day. Even if it seems like a ridiculous idea, write it down.
Write until every page in the notebook is filled, or until you experience that aha moment. This may take months. And that’s okay.
Review past ideas frequently.
Highlight ideas that continue to pique your interest and look for patterns.
Are any highlighted ideas relatable?
Are you able to combine ideas to create unique career or business ideas?
Do any ideas point toward a common theme?
It took three months of recording ideas before I realized that writing had become my common theme.
This was my aha moment.
So here I am.
Good luck!
