Today, I saw an ad from an technology service provider called Remotasks: Earn up to $600 a week training AI chatbots.
According to the ad, the work involves training AI models (like ChatGPT) to become better writers AND getting paid for it! The company says you can earn up to the equivalent of $15 to $20 an hour (depending on your skills), while working from home and choosing your own hours.
But is this potential opportunity really as good as it sounds? Lets investigate further.
What are AI chatbot training gigs?
AI models like ChatGPT depend on human training to make them better at language processing and carrying on conversations. That’s where users like you can come in.
By completing short writing and evaluation assignments, you can help improve the conversation skills of AI chatbots. The gig typically involves following a specific set of instructions. Furthermore, you will often be trained in exactly how to ask questions and evaluate answers.
The gig may not be as easy as it sounds. Especially, since there’s some training beforehand. Plus, you do have to follow a strict set of guidelines in order to get paid for your work and keep your job.
But overall, these gigs can be a good way to make money online. For most, they’re a side hustle. However, for a few, they can be a full-time work from home job.
What are others saying about Remotasks?
Just from doing a quick online search, I’ve found reviews from users saying they make $1,000 a month (which would be $250, not $600, a week). But that might just be because they’re only working part-time. Or, maybe they don’t have as developed skills yet.
Another YouTube reviewer says they make around $500 a week from Remotasks.
So, I would say that in order to earn anywhere around $600 a week training AI chatbots, you’re going to need to develop some serious skills and experience that make you highly productive. Otherwise, this gig looks more like a side hustle.

You still have to put in the work to learn the guidelines and to complete the tasks. I’m not sure how many workers actually average $15 an hour. But it can still be a nice side gig, or even a modest-paying online job.
