Can A Photographer Still Make Money Today?

If you are thinking of a full-time career in photography, you really will question this to yourself. There are thousands of ways to make money in photography, come along with me as I explain.
Back in the year 1990s, the demand for film photography was a boom. When I started photography as my profession, it was the year 2005 that digital photography started. Taking pictures with a digital camera was so much easy than using film.
The time of Photoshop for editing makes people smooth, slim, and many editing styles you create with Photoshop. It was a perfect combination for both Digital photography with Photoshop.
Today, even the camera has its editing software included, everyone has a smartphone that captures perfect shots for any kind of editing style.
I understand the worry.
I always tell myself not everyone can capture an image like I do so I can still make some money and it does to me.
Your creativity can out-stand you from many photographers out there.
There is still demand in the photography world. Consider what kind of subject is on-trend. You need to go for the demand and supply.
I love taking people’s emotions and that can be done with simple lights available in your room window or in the garden. Not everyone can capture the way you do, and that is your selling point.
Expose yourself to many friends and take pictures of them if you want glamour or fashion photography images.
Connect with a company near you because they need a corporate image for their linked profile and website.
Run a roadshow event for your community. Offer a free family photo session. Set up a mini studio and get famous. You only need people to get to know you.
Be a perfectionist of your own work. If you think it is not good for you, it should not be good for your client.
Invest in Props. Elvie, what are props? Props are things we used to take pictures of. If you look at the image above, you notice a hat, a scarf, boxing gloves, etc. Those little things are great for taking photos and gives you a more dramatic effect. You may want to read series 3 about lightings in photography.
Have your model sign for copyrights. Copyrighted images with model release can return your money because many agencies would want it.

123RF, Eyem, Agora Contributor, Companion, and there are thousands of other agencies out there. You just need to get started and get critics.
In addition, as a photographer, you own a digital professional camera, you may take video clips as well. There are tons of demand for video footage from 5 to 15-second footage. I will make a topic about this in my next post.
