Calm Within Her Storm

To share the peace — A Poem

She stepped out and stared, Her face was calm, Her mind on fire, Raging within, a storm.

Her inner eye at the center, Hiding from everyone the anger, Her outer eye blazing, With the force of a gale wind, Ready to blow away everything.

She needed an outlet, To let her emotions pour out, To let her words speak true, Her thoughts to stream forth.

Trying to make herself heard, Her words had only got in the way, How does she let the world know, Without leading them astray.

To make them understand, That she only means well, If her words are something else, That’s not what she chose to tell.

Her words are not her own, By events not under control, They are shaped by others, Who have taken their toll.

Only her deep feelings, Those inner thoughts are hers, But when they come out, They change into something else.

She has taken a lot, But has sacrificed so much, Who sees what she took, Can they see what she gave back?

Who will understand her, Who will stand by her, Who will brave the storm, Who will sail with her?

Who will get within, Who will see inside, Who will see the calm, When the storm rages outside.

Face calm, mind on fire, She stepped out and stared, She is still looking, To have her peace shared.
