Yesterday, I interviewed prolific Medium writer, Walter Rhein. This was a big moment for me, because it was the first real piece of content for my fledgling YouTube channel.
More importantly, it was a chance to talk all things productivity, writing, and making money online with someone who clearly shares many of my beliefs about all three practices.
The interview only happened because of Medium — I think it’s important to make that clear. Without this brilliant platform, Walter and I simply wouldn’t have started talking, and I wouldn’t have gained my first ever YouTube interviewee.
As a result, I’ve managed to create two videos featuring Walter, which will be published over the next two weeks. Keep an eye on my channel, or subscribe to my mailing list to grab a first-look.
Walter’s interview got me thinking. And this is where you come in, if you’re a fellow Medium writer.
Firstly, hands up: I only have 9 subscribers.
One of them is me.
I made this clear to Walter before he handed over an hour of his valuable time, but it didn’t seem to deter him. And that’s what makes Medium such a special place; it’s a community — not a blogging platform.
If, like Walter, you fancy chatting about your own productivity methods, approach to writing, or general experience of making money online, I’d love to get you on the channel.
You can plug your own work (or that of others), share your expertise, or simply let off steam about a topic which is bugging you. My channel is fair game for anything (within reason!).
I have big plans for Mark Ellis Reviews, and while the subscriber count might be low at the moment, I fully intend to grow it exponentially. This is your opportunity to get involved at the grass roots, and hopefully gain plenty of exposure for your Medium profile as my channel grows.
Skype, coffee, and a relaxed chat — that’s all I’m after (I’ll make my own coffee, don’t worry).
If you’d like to get involved, please comment below or send me an email. I really look forward to featuring you on the channel!
