A poem

Poverty snatches away dignity. Poverty smothers even the modest ambitions. Poverty succeeds in making insolent behaviour right. Poverty strips away self-esteem.

Poverty worsens mental health. Poverty warrants a lack of shelter. Poverty weakens immunity towards diseases. Poverty wipes out a semblance of normalcy.

No one wants to be poor. No one wants to live in uncertainty. No one wants to beg for food. Everyone deserves full dignity and access to food, clothing, and shelter.
