Five haiku poems written for ILLUMINATION, highlighting the state of the world after this century’s major man-made problems with balancing life and living. The greed that fueled the banking collapse saw little change to their behavior, and then the unleashing of the Covid-19 pandemic has revealed a system so attached to money to function, many are wondering how they will survive.

Newsflash: we will survive. We will thrive. But we need to discuss what is happening, and find solutions to help us when it happens again.

Because it WILL happen again.

Virus, earthquake, volcanic eruption, meteor strike. We live in a universe that is beautiful and chaotic; bursting with change and danger. Without that change and danger we wouldn’t be here — we would never have evolved.

With it, we will continue to evolve.

ILLUMINATION is an innovation center that is producing ideas to contribute to alleviating the pains of society and improve the quality of life. Through new approaches to discussing difficult problems, ILLUMINATION is creating a knowledge building and sharing community to stimulate conversation and idea generation.
