My C list

Happy New Year everyone!!
Christmas is not over in this side of the earth. Officially, it is after the Feast of the Epiphany which is January 6.
But majority of us don’t follow that. We want to maximize the presence of the Christmas decors in our house. That is until February.
Christmas Decors

This is our Christmas tree. Before I realized that the old one was totally embarrassing to be a part of the house, it’s already December. It’s not practical to buy a new one. Expensive.
I believe that a Christmas tree doesn’t need to look like a typical tree to be called as such. As long as the heart and spirit of Christmas are there, that’s the most important thing. And that…will stay until February.
I was able to celebrate the holidays in two other houses. It’s nice to see their Christmas decors.

Chicago’s Churches
How will I describe the churches in the windy city? Captivating, calming, charismatic, classic and Catholic.
I had visited several of them years ago. I was surprised that there are so many Catholic Churches over there.
Three of the best ones:

From the start of the pandemic until the present, I only hear mass online. My favorite mass to attend is the one at the Holy Name Cathedral.

Clouds
Before 2022 ended, we joined the 89th birthday celebration of my Dad’s sister. She is so blessed to reach that age. Unlike my Dad who had passed on his 60s.
From our place to their place, I photographed the clouds. How they changed their moods, from gray to white to sundown.
Oh, those clouds! Despite being moody, their beauty stood out.

Celine Dion

Do you still remember the first song of Celine that you’ve heard on the airwaves?
I do. The song is “If you ask me to “. Believe it or not, from all the songs that she recorded, that’s my favorite.
As I was looking for what in Celine do I have, I saw her old cassette tape. I bought it in the 90s and it is still with me.
But I have forgotten about it. The not so good news about her health made me remember that I have it.
I just wish her well. Be strong Celine!
Cassette Tapes of Christmas Carols

I found these cassettes of Christmas carols along with Celine’s. I’m not sure if they are still functioning. I don’t have a cassette player anymore. I know, who would have a functioning cassette player at this time.
And lastly, my C list is not complete without a food photo.
Chico

We call this brown fruit as Chico. It is known to the world as sapodilla, sapote, naseberry, nispero or chicle.
It is sweet and easy to eat. That’s why it is one of my favorites.
Here, when someone is drunk but denies he is drunk, he can’t escape the truth. He smells like Chico, the overripe.
Clementine

We call this teeny-weeny version of orange as Kiat-kiat. A part of the New Year celebration here. We usually hang them in doors of the hours to welcome good fortune.
Are you done with your Cs?
