Butterfly Kisses

November Monthly Prompt — Images for A Taste For Life

Just a flutter in the wind can show me she is here watching over all of us.

A picture or a real butterfly has always shown me and my kids that their grandma is near. My mother had a butterfly tattoo and now since her passing this is our very own little reminder of my mom and my kids’ grandma.

“A butterfly symbolizes acceptance of each new phase in life. To keep faith as everything around you changed.” By: Lisa Kleypas, Rainshadow Road

I was with her the day she got that tattoo. That was her first and only one she had gotten. My friend came over and did the tattoo for her and one for me. She loved that tattoo. Just a simple plain butterfly, nothing more.

When my grandson was around we were outside and he was inside his stroller and I was pushing him up and down the driveway. We had a butterfly follow us up and down the driveway for at least 5 minutes. It was so weird. I had never seen a butterfly do that before.

On a different day, I was sitting on our porch in the backyard watching my grandson play and I had a little friend come say hi.

Photo I took of the butterfly on my hand

It landed on my hand a couple of times. I was lucky to get the photo. I know this has happened to plenty of people so I know this can mean not a thing. To me… This is my mom saying Hello. I do believe she was walking with my grandson as I pushed him in his stroller.
