Buddhism Paves The Way
How I overcome struggles, indecision, and challenges
Once, I would have buckled knees weak, folding into themselves My bed, a refuge from struggles My mind was incapable, too clouded to discover a solution, a way out
Every little challenge crippled me Decisions left undecided Goals swept away in the sands of a mind too wind-tunneled Even slight situations buried me
When you are that deeply immersed the only way forward is upward Or to be left hidden for millennium like lost civilizations forgotten by time eventually dug up, but misunderstood
My only way forward, upward, onward was to clear pathways through my mind I dug tunnels and mazes, twisting paths A forked road appeared, still indecisive So I drove a straight line up the middle
Today, I still walk this middle path Ever mindful of every step, breathing Walking meditations to calm and steady Repeating mantras and affirmations No longer serving tea to struggles
Daily, I write about each trouble Monthly, I talk it all out Giving thanks to the Universe for each new tool, I uncover And the spiritual path I now walk

A poetic response to Ellie Jacobson’s Sparks №13: Squishing Through the Middle prompt — My question to you is how do you push through a struggle? When you’re in the middle of a situation, goal, challenge that you don’t think you will make it through?
I’ve amassed a nice size list of work that leaves me in awe. I used to write appreciation lists, but I no longer have the time. I still keep the list though and it continues to grow. Check it out and maybe you will find a few awe-inspiring stories you’d like to keep too!
