Summary

The webpage presents a passionate space-themed love poem by Nikolaos Skordilis, accompanied by a song reference and links to related poems by the same author and by Carlo Zeno.

Abstract

The webpage features a poem titled "Brighter Than The Sun" by Nikolaos Skordilis, which uses celestial imagery to convey the intensity of a romantic relationship. The poem compares the strength of the couple's feelings to the brightness of a blue super-giant star and the gravitational pull of a black hole, suggesting that such intense emotions are unsustainable and consuming. The author expresses a fear that unless they 'cool down,' their love will disperse like space dust. The poem is complemented by a NASA image of space and a song by Tiamat, which is quoted to symbolically conclude the piece. Additionally, the page includes links to another poem by Skordilis called "Rocket Engines" and a poem by Carlo Zeno titled "Flammable Ingredients," both of which explore themes of passion and intensity.

Opinions

  • The author believes that intense emotions, like those of a blue super-giant star or a black hole, cannot last due to their overwhelming nature.
  • There is a concern that the relationship's passion, if not tempered, will lead to their separation, much like how matter is scattered in space.
  • The poem suggests that the couple's desire for each other has taken over their lives, hinting at both the ecstasy and peril of such all-consuming love.
  • The author seems to find the intro of the song by Tiamat, "The Sleeping Beauty (Lake of Nectar)," to be a fitting and poetic way to conclude their own poem, indicating a shared appreciation for the song with their loved one.
  • By providing links to other poems, the author implies that these works offer further exploration into similar themes of love, passion, and cosmic metaphors.

Our feelings burn very strong like a blue super-giant star they burn brighter than the Sun that’s why they cannot last

We want to consume each other like a black hole does with matter I think unless we cool down like space dust we will scatter

We are two fools greedy for each other we cannot keep our lust in check it has overwhelmed our entire lives we have drown in it up to the neck

My love, I was listening to that song of Tiamat, the Swedes we both love I think the song’s intro is a neat way to end this poem with a music note

🎶“We could wander in the garden of Eden baby We could do anything tonight, maybe We could even touch the sky If we just get up on our feet and try…” 🎶
