Bridge Crossing

Crossing a bridge means leaving your old self behind embracing the new.

I have always loved bridges. I loved how they arched their backs like wild beasts — helping me get to the other side. I also enjoyed their architectural wonder and the fact that they are sturdy.

However, today when I came upon this little bridge during my run, I thought of the war and the brave Ukrainian people fighting against their invaders. Unfortunately, they can’t trust the process of crossing to the other side unharmed. Instead, millions of Ukrainians had to leave everything behind them and find refuge in neighboring countries, including my native country Romania.

A bridge should be about making peace and finding a safe landing on the other side.

Praying for peace and for many more beautiful bridges to propel us safely to the other side.
