Breonna Taylor
There once was a young girl, asleep in her bed
March 13, 2020 ended her life, much dread
At midnight fast asleep, could never be a threat
Three plain clothes cop, entered the wrong beat
Looking for drug dealers, addressed ten miles away
No knock warrant, shot eight times, took her life that day
They made an obvious mistake, but have yet to pay
For their crime committed, no charges at bey
Breonna Taylor loved and cared for others
EMT Worker, who always helped another
Riddle with bullets, took her innocent life
Sleeping was a threat to these three low-lifes
If she was white, would they had done the same
Resoundingly, “no”, this was a crime shame
They didn’t care, they had guns the advantage
So why knock, just barge in without a care
Twenty shots rang out, shot her eight times
Because she was black, sleep, what a crime
Her body was riddle with bullets, an easy prey
She took eight bullets, her life was taken away
Protect and serve wasn’t their agenda
To kill was obviously, their agenda
Killing the innocent, they walked free
Roaming the streets, free they be
No justice, not even a descent apology
Justice for Breonna demand a decree
Many have shouted, no justice no peace
The police and justice system pretend don’t see
Louisville Kentucky stained with her blood
Much outcry for justice the land now flood
Twenty six billboards posted all around
Each one for every year of her life, abounds
Thanks to Oprah Winfrey, not to let this be
Uncovering bias and racism, for the world to see
Blacklives matter , and these cops must now pay
Shouts, chants and protest will remain aloud at bay
For their racist act, against a life not theirs’ to take
Prison awaits, their lives remain forever to bake
Justice will be served, the bus stop here today!
