Breathe In — Breathe Out: A Tale of Compassion
A short meditation on the things of everyday life

Breathe in — Breathe out
Breathe in — Breathe out
I met Mike years ago — Young thirties Often talked about his kid
Breathe in — Breathe out
One day he came in distraught His 4-year-old was diagnosed with muscular dystrophy
Breathe in — Breathe out
Stuck between What he knew he should do And what he believed he could do He talked of leaving
Breathe in — Breathe out
I jumped to outrage I wanted to yell, shake, and pound
Breathe in — Breathe out
I did not see Mike after that day.
When I think back All I see is a man broken — A man in tears, Who must live with his decisions
As we live with ours A lifetime is a long time
Breathe in — Breathe out
