Breaking the Cycle: Turning “I Will” into “I Did”

All success is, is a mindset shift

I was scrolling through TikTok the other day.

I won't lie, I use it sometimes as a bit of a mindless distraction.

Somewhere I can switch off, and enjoy some of the funny videos.

Out of the blue, the algorithm changed. I was bombarded with motivational self-help videos.

One stuck with me though.

It was a guy named Matt Graham, and he asked a simple question.

“What if you did it? What if you actually did it? What if you achieved every single goal that you have?”

It got me thinking, we all seem to have this tendency to lean toward the worst-case scenario, and I am really not sure why.

A fear of the unknown?

A fear of failure?

A fear of moving out of your comfort zone?

In reality, it’s likely to be a mixture of all three.

It’s time for a mindset shift. For the next few minutes, I want you to sit and think about one thing.

I want you to think about how you would feel if you were to accomplish every goal that you currently have.

Would you still be unhappy?

Would you still be out of shape?

Would you still be in debt?

I am assuming the answer is no.

Your life would be so unbelievably different, it’s almost hard to imagine.

That feeling? That feeling of relief and accomplishment?

That's the feeling we now need to chase.

The goals we set for ourselves? they will change along the way, but the feeling of getting where we want in life?

That stays the same.

All we need is that bit of belief. A belief that every single goal we have set ourselves is within our grasp.

Every single thing we want in life, it’s ours to take.

We just need to take that first step.

Stop thinking about what we want to do, and just do it.

The first step doesn't need to be perfect, it rarely is, but it is a forward movement.

Imperfect steps, towards our perfect life.

In truth, one foot ahead of the other isn’t a hard task.

Just think of the smallest, most basic action that you can take, to move towards your goal, and take it.

It’s that simple.

You will stop telling people all the things you will do.

You’ll be telling them everything you have done.
