Break the Cycle
Be the change you wish to see
“Yesterday I was clever, so I wanted to change the world. Today I am wise, so I am changing myself.”-Rumi
It is not polite to point we tell our kids. But we’re pointing out the faults in others all the time, silently judging. All the while, wishing for more understanding and less judging for our actions.
We can see all the things wrong in the world and wish for more peace and kindness. But what is the role we are playing in the world?
It is too easy to point out the bad behavior of others and overlook our own.
Instead of indulging our bitterness and seeking vengeance by behaving badly, we can break the chain.
Instead of judging, choose understanding.
When conflicted between rejecting and accepting, choose acceptance.
Instead of inflicting painful words, choose words that heal.
Choose compassion. Be kind.
“Everyone thinks of changing the world, but no one thinks of changing himself.” -Leo Tolstoy
