Break the Bias This International Women’s Day!

Happy International Women’s Day (IWD). 💞🎉✨

What an amazing theme for this year: Break the bias! (#breakthebias on social media).

This year is focused on creating a gender equal world, free of stereotypes, discrimination and bias.

After 2 years of lock-downs and homeschooling, gender inequality has become even more apparent.

The majority of household chores and child rearing still fall to women. They are not given the same opportunities in work-places.

It is far beyond time we had a “gender equal world”.

Imagine that?

What would it look like for you? What would it change?

A diverse, inclusive society.

A world in which we celebrate and value ALL of our differences (not just gender).

Together, we can “break the bias” in our communities, workplaces, schools and universities.

Together, we can create a society that embraces diversity and celebrates what makes us truly unique and beautiful…our differences.

Shout it out. Call out people who are judging and learn to recognise your own bias.

We all know bias exists.

Whether we have been victims of it, treated someone different because of a bias, or seen it happen. We all know and are well aware. Unless you are living under a rock or just don’t care. In which case, what are you doing?!

But it is not enough to just simply know it exists. To acknowledge it but not do anything about it.

To make any kind of long-standing change we need to take action. We need to speak up and actively call out discrimination or stereotype behaviour when we see it.

This is definitely a case of “actions speak louder than words”.

So this International Women’s Day will you help break the bias?

Special shout out to all the amazing women on here, doing their thing and achieving their dreams! You are all beautiful, strong, courageous and simply amazing. 😍🤩
