Brain freeze

How many times do we confront some strange situations like acting without being ourselves? I think the answer is simple: many times. And taking as an example losing a flight (which by the way happened to may one year ago) made me realize how easily we become irrational, incapable of thinking what to do. Fight and flight response makes you paralyze, block us, the irrational (limbic system ) takes over, adrenaline and cortisol are released in our body so the rational brain (neocortex) is frozen and shut down.
How can we avoid this kind of situation? Probably we need to take a deep breath, relax, and try to stay calm. Our brains are developing and evolving if they are pushed to the extreme and challenged, new neurons are produced so the new unknown situations become comfortable and not scalable and frightening.
What helps to produce new neurons is a novelty, physical exercise, and arousal. So if you find yourself on an isolated island then you will know what to do and not get panicked, even if you find yourself in a totally new context. So, maybe the solution to this problem is to train your brain no longer be scared by putting yourself more often in a scary and unknown situation.
