Understanding the world starts with your mom
“Boy, I Love Meeting People’s Moms. It’s Like Reading an Instruction Manual as to Why They’re Nuts.” — Ted Lasso
Your mom is the reason you are who you are….

whatever you are, it’s likely your mother was a major contributor to your headspace.
I was late to the Ted Lasso craze. I recently found the show and my wife and I binge-watched both seasons and now, we’re waiting for the third season from Apple+ TV.
Football had ended here, there wasn’t a lot that I wanted to watch. So I stuck it out and by the third episode, I was hooked.
It’s a fabulous show that proves that we can still have our imperfections and shortcomings without having to be arrogant or rude [people] yet still be funny.
It is so true that when you meet someone’s mom, it explains so much about that person. I’ve been married twice and had two mothers-in-law, the mother I was born to, the aunt that adopted me, and my grandmother. When I think of those women I am in awe of their wisdom and knowledge.
I am also in awe that I survived them.
Our country is so incredibly screwed up! Part of it is because we constantly have women hating other women. Society pits us against each other and we’re supposed to pity the men. That doesn’t help anyone.
We aren’t taught how to have compassion and acceptance.
Many women don’t know if we should be stronger, weaker, or secret ninjas. We have to wear so many hats while trying to pull other people’s heads out of their asses! It’s quite the chore, at times.
If you have a mom, be kind.
If you are a mom, be patient.
If you have a mother-in-law, be understanding (it’s sometimes ok to drink)
If you are a mother-in-law, be more understanding (it’s highly advised that you drink!) Totally kidding! Well… mostly.
Women, we’re our own worst enemies. No matter if we’re the mother, the daughter, or the grandmother. We need to raise girls to be strong, kind, and independent. Build one another up and we’re going to be stronger together. Vote for strong, smart, women! Support women and girls!
It’s important to remember that having strong women helps to have strong and independent sons. There is no reason we shouldn’t want, expect and settle for nothing less than equality. We all win!
Would meeting your mom be like getting an instruction manual on you? Or would it be more like a book on “What not to do?”
Let me know in the comments. I can’t wait to hear from you!
If you would like to buy me a coffee and help support my message, you can do so here.
I appreciate you, and I am so glad you’re here. 🌼 Kimberlee
