Boost Your Success With These 4 Daily Non-Negotiables
Habits to include in your routine to make progress simple.
Success comes down to the little things you do on a daily basis.
If you have habits that support your goals, progress is simple.
Here are 4 non-negotiable habits you need to include in your day if you want to succeed.
1. Plan Your Day the Evening Before
You need to wake up in the morning with a plan.
The morning hours are the most productive, so you don’t want to be spending valuable time trying to figure out what you should be doing.
Take 5–10 minutes in the evening to identify your key tasks for the next day and write these down.
When you wake up, you can get straight to work.
2. Do Focused Work
Building on the point above, you want to block out focused work blocks in your day.
These are periods of time where you’re focused on one task, you eliminate distractions, and you sit down until the task is done.
This is the most effective way to get into the flow state and to produce meaningful work.
3. Go for a Walk Without Your Phone
“All of humanity’s problems stem from man’s inability to sit quietly in a room alone.” — Blaise Pascal
You need to learn to be alone. To be bored. To become aware of your mind and your body.
This is a skill that hardly anyone has. We live in an age of distraction. When was the last time you had nothing to do? No phone to look at, no Netflix to watch, no video games to play?
Get outside without your phone and walk.
4. Meditate
Building on the last point, you need to cultivate self-awareness.
You do this by sitting down and paying attention. It doesn't matter what you pay attention to. The key is that you’re aware.
This is much harder than you think.
We think we’re aware. We think we’re paying attention. But we’re actually lost in thought, somewhere in the past or the future, and not in the present moment.
Start spending some time with your mind.
