This book, written by Father and Son, is an excellent example of the cooperative spirit between our two generations as we work together for a better and more Progressive future.

In the wake of the 2016 election, (in which we elected the least approved of president in recent history), many citizens have experienced something of a political rude awakening. From all ends of the ideological spectrum, people are beginning to realize how much their vote really matters and how the pro-capitalist GOP agenda has really ended up hurting the middle class. Which is why Boomers to Millennials: Moving America Forward is a perfectly timed Progressive primer for those who are interested in getting involved in politics and activism. From climate change, to gun control to feminism/LGBTQ rights, this book concisely recounts the history of each Progressive cause and tracks how our generations are bringing them forward together.

Written by father Daniel R. Rubin, (Lawyer and retired History Professor), and son Nathan H. Rubin, (the CEO of media company Millennial Politics), the narrative of this book lovingly passes from boomer to millennial and back. It is an excellent example of the cooperative spirit between our two generations as we work together for a better future. This book reminds us that true equality is a fight that was never truly won, but rather one that requires consistent and diligent action from every citizen.

The writers remember that young people have always been the instigators of change. They encourage millennials to band with our elders, vote, protest and run for office. Indeed, the 2018 midterm election has seen a relative explosion of millennial congressional candidates and 55% of surveyed millennials are promising to turn out to the polls this November. But the Rubins rightly call for persistence and remind us that: “People often underestimate the influence they have and the power they can wield. Effecting positive change is in your control. Your voice is powerful, and your vote matters.”
