Bodycam footage shows accused child rapist stopped for DUI with 6 children in his truck

In the early morning of July 5, 2022, several police officers from the state of New Mexico who were driving on Interstate 25 ran into a car that was in a zigzag.

Because of this they decided to follow him, more than anything to see if everything was due to a driver’s error or if it was under the influence of some substance.

For several kilometers the car barely remained in its lane so as it happens in these cases the agents decided to stop it ... What they could least suspect was that a simple traffic fine would take them to something much more sinister.

The individual was identified as Jeremy Guthrie, 43 years old. The agents discover that inside his car there are several minors whom he calls his friends.

After all this, Jeremy confirmed that he had drunk a little but that it had already been about two hours. Of course the agents didn’t believe him because, as you have seen, he wasn’t able to build a single sentence.

At this point, while one of the agents talks to the children, the other discovers that Jeremy has a knife in his pocket and requisitions it. Then he continues talking to him to find out where he comes from and where he is going with the 6 kids in his vehicle.

After failing several sobriety tests, Jeremy was arrested and charged with intoxicated driving. But the thing didn’t stop here, since the agents didn’t understand how a 43-year-old man took so many children in the car... Fortunately, over time the truth came to light.

The truth:

The children’s parents were warned and went to that place to pick them up.

Shortly after, the grandmother of 12-year-old twins who were in the car reported to the police that their granddaughters had suffered inappropriate behavior from Jeremy for more than a year.

But that was not the worst since this behavior led to one of them getting pregnant although she finally lost the baby naturally.

One of the girls told the police that she had met Jeremy on Snapchat and confirmed everything her grandmother reported. The girl added that at least one of the times the subject recorded everything and that in her house she had numerous substances in addition to weapons.

Being in the back of bars, Jeremy’s behavior did not stop and he continued to send messages to one of the twins to ask for money. According to him, he was using the phone of a prison guard.

During an interview, the girls’ grandmother spoke about this issue and showed the screenshots of the messages that her granddaughter had received. Here he also stated that at one point he pretended to be her to get information from her.

Even so, this case leaves more questions than answers, especially because no one knows how Jeremy really got to those children, or because his families didn’t report him before. The only thing that is known is that the twins’ grandmother tried to report him earlier but they didn’t even listen to him.

In December 2023, the trial against Jersey Guthrie began. Although he has had very little coverage, it is known that he was found guilty by a jury. At the moment it is unknown how long he will have to spend in prison, although from here we expect that he will never leave.
