BMW Passion and Desire

I have been a fan of this brand since I was 14 years old.

In the beginning there were the E36 models with some engines that had no rivals at that time 318is 140hp, 320i with 150hp,323i 170hp,325i with 192hp and 328i with 193hp. Subscribe

The top of the range was the ever-present m3 with 321hp. My favorites of those listed above were the 318is and 325i. The 318is although less powerful than the 320i was very similar in performance, with a larger twin-cylinder engine, just like the E90 320si (173hp) limited edition of only 2600 units. I listed the models I liked, namely the 3 series.

Back then there were models like the 645csi(e24) a very successful and appreciated model. One sells such a model if it is in good condition at prices starting at 25–30 thousand euro.

Let’s not forget the 5 series, i.e. an e39 also a very successful car and ending with the 7 series an e38 was a beautiful dream.

Over all the models I listed would be a king: the 8 series E31 with the top of the range 850csi having the engine that was put on the 750il and 381 hp. A real masterpiece a true aspirated V12.Next up is the E46 an ok model with good reliability, I owned a 136 horsepower 320d. I kept it for a short time upgrading to the e90 a 163hp 320d.

A step forward in all respects, except for some owners who criticize the dashboard as not driver oriented. The E90 excels in handling and road holding. And is a stable car in corners. Perhaps this helped me by having a sport suspension. The downside would be the harsh suspension. On the engine side I think it is a success, not having engine problems being M47, but the turbine is quite fragile Mitsubishi. As for the lifespan of this turbine use maximum 250 thousand kilometres.

If you want more power there is 535d 313hp less reliable than 530d having problems with the oil pump, then with the engine. And the top of the range would be 550d also the same engine n57 at the base this one being with 3 turbos and lower reliability than 535d. As power increases, reliability decreases. I talked in this article in the first part of the models I wanted then the ones I owned. In the future in 1 or 2 years I want to switch back to the 3 series under the G20 name.

I find it a very successful car both exterior and interior. I did a drive test with a 330i at a BMW dealer. A powerful and well-connected car with exactly the same power as my current car, i.e. 258HP.

I don’t have pictures of the E46 but only of the E90 and F10.

Thanks
