Blue Green
a free verse poem response to Trisha Traughber’s the colours of your life Writing prompt, call for submissions…reminder to get out and live

I’m told by the monks, Green is not my colour. I love green, I love The lushness of green In fauna that surrounds me. It’s the colour associated with my county, Ireland, the emerald isle. How can I not love green!
I’m told by the monks, Blue is my colour I love blue, I love Azure skies of blue In all that is above me. I read it’s a Sagittarius star chart equation, The sign I was born under. How can I not love blue!
I love the blue-greens within the sea As I walk along the beach morning time, Breathing in the fresh sea-salted air.
I love the blue sea in the afternoon, Under bright sunlights reflection, Breathing in the fresh sea-salted air.
I love the green sea under darkened moody Stormcloud skies breathing in the fresh sea-salted air As the rain is about to lash upon the sand.
I love green, I love blue within the land I live, Absorbing them each and every day Through my green-blue eyes.
Thank you Trisha Traughber for giving my words a platform here at Vagabond Voices. Thank you for reading. J.
