Blue Eyes, Blond Hair, and Racist Minds
How the Ukraine war exposed the West’s true face.
According to the Western mentality, blue eyes and blonde hair define Europeans. Photo of a Syrian refugee by Talha Nair on Unsplash
To David Sakvarelidze, Ukraine’s former deputy general prosecutor, Europeans are of two kinds, the “real” ones with blue eyes and blond hair and the “fake” ones who are originally Asians, Arabs, Africans, and South Americans.
That explains why people of color struggle to escape the Russian invasion of Ukraine, as reported by Aljazeera. NBC News also reported that thousands of African residents in Ukraine reported racist discrimination and abuse at the border while trying to flee the country.
Sakvarelidze told the BBC:
It’s very emotional for me because I see European people with blue eyes and blonde hair being killed. …(they) shouldn’t have to be killed everyday with Putin’s missiles.
But It’s totally fine for Putin’s missiles and cluster bombs to be dropped on Syrians. Who cares about those “second-class humans”?! They are a “developing third world nation.” It’s as this hypocrite Britain’s ITV correspondent has put it:
Now the unthinkable happened to them. And this is not a developing third-world nation. This is Europe.
And there is NBC News correspondent Kelly Cobiella who also came under fire from fellow journalists after she stated on air that “these are not refugees from Syria, these are refugees from Ukraine… They’re Christian; they’re white, they’re very similar.”
And on France’s BFMTV, one analyst said:
we’re not talking here about Syrians fleeing the bombing of the Syrian regime backed by Putin, we’re talking about Europeans leaving in cars that look like ours… to save their lives.
Ummm … Very interesting! So Putin is a hero when he kills people who don’t look like you. But he’s a criminal when he kills people who are white (and racist) like you!
What’s is more shocking was that the news anchors didn’t even challenge these racist remarks. This is what the BBC presenter told Sakvarelidze, “I understand and of course respect the emotion.”
This type of commentary reflects the true mentality of Western journalism of normalizing tragedy in non-European countries.
CBS News’ anchor Charlie D’Agata said:
This isn’t a place, with all due respect, like Iraq or Afghanistan, that has seen conflict raging for decades…This is a relatively civilized, relatively European — I have to choose those words carefully, too — city, where you wouldn’t expect that or hope that it’s going to happen.”
Well, I feel bothered when you insult the intelligence of your own people!
Here is the status of women and children’s rights in Afghanistan after 20 years of your “civilized” presence.
Nearly half of Afghan children are out of school,” UNICEF said in a 2018 report. “More than 18 million Afghans, including 9.7 million children, need food”, announced Save the Children on January 2021. According to UN Refugee Agency, Afghanistan has the world’s second-highest number of displaced people, second only to Syria. 2.7 million are refugees, and another 4 million are homeless. Poverty in Afghanistan rose to 72% in 2020, according to the World Bank. A quarter of a million died, more than 70 thousand were defenseless civilians, and twice as many were killed because of starvation and epidemics.
Was that the civilization you brought to Afghanistan? To find more about the accomplishments of the “civilized,” read my article, “Grendizer in Afghanistan.”
As for Iraq, you invaded the country to destroy Saddam’s weapons of mass destruction, weapons that only existed in your fake media reports. One million people were killed in the first year of the invasion alone.
But it’s worth it. Isn’t it? It’s the “collateral damage.” It’s the logic of former US Secretary of State Madeleine Albright when she told “60 Minutes” in 1998 that even if sanctions against Iraq caused the death of half a million Iraqi children, “the price is worth it.”
And after all, Iraqis don’t have blue eyes and blonde hair! Hence, they are not “civilized”!
Bosnians Are White but Not Perceived as Europeans
The essence of the above statements from Western reporters and politicians is that “Ukrainians are not the same as the Syrians, Iraqis, and Afghans; they are European people with blonde hair and blue eyes; so we must stand up for them and care for their safety.”
Remember that the Muslims of Bosnia and Herzegovina who were massacred, tortured, and raped while the whole world watched were also European with blonde hair and blue eyes.
Look at the picture of Alija Izetbegović, former president of Bosnia. Do you have any doubts that he’s European?

But one factor made the other European nations consider Bosnians’ blood worthless: they were Muslims.
