Blue Confidence
Haiku

loyalty and trust that’s rooted in confidence foundation of strength.
There are so many shades of blues and many of them have different meanings. According to an article entitled “The Meanings of Blue” the author states, “most blues convey a sense of trust, loyalty, cleanliness, and understanding.” The author has laid out a few other meanings that can be found below.
Dark Blue: trust, dignity, intelligence, authority
Bright Blue: cleanliness, strength, dependability, coolness (The origin of these meanings arise from the qualities of the ocean and inland waters, most of which are more tangible.)
Light (Sky) Blue: peace, serenity, ethereal, spiritual, infinity (The origin of these meanings is the intangible aspects of the sky.)
Of course, we all know that blue can also have a negative meaning, as it can imply that someone is feeling down and depressed. As sung by Phil Collins in a Groovy Kind of Love in which he declares that when he’s feeling down (“blue”), he looks at the person he loves and that lifts his spirits.
I personally love most shades of blue, indigo being one of my favorites. I learned early in my professional career that wearing blue would gain respect from my colleagues because the color represented intellect and wisdom.
However, I can’t confirm or deny that theory, but there have been research conducted that have concluded that different colors affect our moods.
For now, I will continue to wear blue, as the color represents so much positivity, and it gives me confidence.
I was inspired to write this piece because of other poets/writers who have written poems expressing their blue magic. I have included a few pieces below, thank you for your inspiration:
Thank you all for reading and I welcome you to write a poem expressing your blue magic.
